Happy Chinese New Year From Byways House B&B in Salisbury

The Dragon

The Dragon personality The Dragon is a creature of myth and legend. A symbol of good fortune and sign of intense power, the Oriental Dragon is regarded as a divine beast – the reverse of the malicious monster that Westerners felt necessary to find and slay. In Eastern philosophy, the Dragon is said to be a deliverer of good fortune and a master of authority. Therefore, those people born in Dragon years are to be honored and respected.

At Byways House B&B we wish all a very happy Chinese New Year from Salisbury

Christmas markets in and around Salisbury this year-2011

As the weather changes and the feel for Christmas is just around the corner, I’ve been trying to come up with new and more exciting ways to get those much needed special gifts. Christmas markets make a change from the hustle and bustle of high streets shopping. I’ve researched small Christmas markets taking place in and around Salisbury, it always adds to that Christmas feeling to experience (something special leading up to the magical event). Salisbury and its surrounding areas often have traditional Christmas markets to enjoy. And I strongly recommend them.

I have provided you with web addresses or general information to follow after a short paragraph about the markets you could experience this year.

Bournemouth Christmas market

Set in the heart of Bournemouth town square from the 18th November 2011 lasting until the 3rd January 2012. This German inspired market will give you a chance to enjoy the many stalls selling festive items or just appreciate the atmosphere whilst listening to the Christmas music, why not treat yourself to a glass of mulled wine with friends in the German Alpine Bar.
